AS A PERFORMER.
I have a passion for developing new work. I have been honored to originate several roles in plays written by some of this country's most exciting playwrights at venues including Playwrights Horizons, Contemporary American Theatre Festival & Ensemble Studio Theatre.
When I have the opportunity, I love to devise new works with a group of performers and designers, and for a few years I did quite a bit of this with a theatre company I founded called The Beggars Group . We created a lot of very fringey, downtown-y sort of work on New York City’s Lower East Side.
On the other end of the spectrum, I also have a passion for performing, coaching, and teaching Shakespeare. The first solo show I created is a mash-up of these worlds: Saint Joan & Sister Francis Explain It All.
In the world of media, my on-camera work ranges from guest appearances on Law & Order to commercials. I have also done several voiceovers for companies such as NPR's Radio Lab, Procircular Cyber Security & Pugh, Hagan & Prahm Law. My most recent voiceover project is underscoring Poetry in Motion by Paul Casella.
Currently, I’m writing a new solo show Radical. It’s an exploration of grief, faith, epigenetics and motherhood. Touring Dates Coming Soon.
"[Anne Marie] is at the top of her game here as Irene. Attractive, energetic, and above all, absolutely fearless... Nest's virtuosos performance in this play is all-in."
T.L. Ponick, The Washington Times
on BARCELONA, CATF
Nest is, by turns, exuberant, vehement and cheeky, flashing a crinkly-eyed smile, and she underscores the expressiveness and literary timbre of Corrie's diaries."
Celia Wren, The Washington Post
on My Name Is Rachel Corrie, CATF
